Exploration of Blue

Inspired by Pantone Color of the Year 2020 Classic Blue and our immersive experiences of the color at our art spaces, you can now create your own digital blue universe at home.

Immerse yourself in the sensations of Pantone Classic Blue by creating your own unique universe of flowing particles and deep vortexes. Through your webcam — your movement causes ripples, through holding your mouse (or finger) in one place — cause particles to gather.

This exploration of color is turned into a complete audiovisual experience through the music of Mexico-based producer and programmer Paperworks (Eduardo Montero), who also composed music for the ARTECHOUSE NYC Submerge installation in February 2020.

The Inspiration

Inspired by Pantone Color of the Year 2020 Classic Blue and our immersive in-person experiences of the color, we decided to create a way for people to experience the healing and calming properties of blue no matter where they may be located. Just as our installations encouraged serenity and stability, we hope that this application’s deep dive into Classic Blue creates feelings of both peacefulness and creativity.
